Well hello.

It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve checked in here. I have had an -intentionally- absent summer. Unplugged and unbothered. Very refreshing way to transition out of summer and into chilly season.

So I’m sure you’re wondering why I’ve gathered you all here today, parishioners. Let’s rewind to a couple months ago to this blog.

I very briefly and cryptically teased this photo:

Threw it in the blog, then never spoke about it again. On purpose.

That was partially for me, partially for you.

Anyone who’s kept up with my artwork over the years knows I struggle to finish stuff. Mostly because I set this insane expectation for myself, marginally above my skill set and capabilities, then my find myself deeply disappointed. Which is beyond ridiculous hahaha.

But this project was different. I was determined to finish it no matter what and not only did I do that, I managed to complete it exactly as I envisioned it which most artists can relate, is a very rare feeling. We try our best to create that EXACT image in our head but it’s usually a few degrees off. This is one of my rare moments that I get to say with 100% certainty, this is exactly what I wanted -happy tears-

Baby’s First Jewelry (me. i’m baby)

My very first piece of original jewelry. Designed by me from start to finish. And with the studio turning 6, I wanted to mark the milestone in a special way.

This pendant was inspired by my home of Warwick, NY where I moved to in 2014. Scattered throughout the village, you’ll find Japanese ginkgo trees planted all across the town. The ginkgo trees are also the inspiration behind my logo I created in honor of the trees I pass by every day and their fallen leaves I often pick up along my walk to the studio. These trees are not native to Warwick, as suggested by it’s name, and yet here they are making Warwick their home, just like me.

These origins hold true not just for ginkgos, but for myself and for many of you here in Warwick - my neighbors. In celebration of my 6th anniversary in my tattoo studio here in Warwick and my 12th year living here, I’ve created this ginkgo leaf necklace, sourced from the ginkgo leaf, centered in my logo.

To pay homage to Warwick’s historic status and constant commitment to preservation, as well as restoration, I chose an antique gold finish. To me, this suits our town’s personality most. Honoring the beauty of age with an elegant gold finish and an iron base that will hold strong against wear.

Each are uniquely numbered, 1 through 100, making them all one of a kind.

Through tattooing, whether it be here in Warwick or away from home, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many people that share my experience and I know this design will connect with so many of you.
