i made stuff

Not every blog will be earth shattering. Not every update will be scandalous. Not every artwork I make will be groundbreaking.

Those very sentiments are the fears that gnaw at me, when I wonder about what the point of this stupid ass blog is. Do people give enough of a shit to see what I’m up to even if it’s traditionally mundane? My artwork and art career is no more interesting and compelling than the next guy so who the hell am I to ask you all to SUBSCRIBE to it. Wtf do I have to say that’s even remotely important? Weird, right? Gotta love imposter syndrome. But it’s not entirely my fault or any of ours. Social media has convinced me at times that making something with my hands is not good enough and I just GOTTA up my game somehow. Which is so fuckin stupid. Aaaand thus the point of this blog has been found. I made stuff! Just stuff! Stuff I’m proud of. With my hands, on paper, with a pencil and not an ipad. Stuff I worked really hard on and this is the place meant for sharing stuff.

Here’s a few pieces of flash I made for spring. I had a few pieces I started a while back and didn’t finish right away. Sometimes I hit a creative wall and put ideas away for later until the idea comes to me again. Stoked to have some of those pieces completed and included here. These designs are all available to be tattooed. Check em out

Subscribe to my free newsletter

Don’t wanna miss anything? Add your email to my newsletter to see when stuff is happening. I’m doing this to slowly but surely replace the need for instagram and really, the necessity of social media all together.

Myself and many other tattooers I know have been struggling to connect with old, new, and even CURRENT clients with the format that instagram has taken on. Navigating ever-changing algorithms is not sustainable for a single tattooer like myself on top of the insurmountable tasks of owning a space and freelancing, but props to those who somehow figured it out. That’s sadly not in the cards for everyone.

It’s not just an entirely different skill set and profession all on it’s own, it’s also incredibly emotionally and mentally draining. I removed my social media apps from my phone and I cannot express to you how much better I feel. Modern life is hard and complicated enough for most of us and we all have plenty of stress to cope with every day. Instagram was, when I tell you, crushing me, mentally, and something finally had to give. But like I said, it serves as a marketing tool and way to connect with new and old clients. Being dependent on it has started to cripple me as a tattooer and small business owner and creating this custom space is hopefully gonna eliminate that.

Don’t get me wrong, I have my days where I love using the app and it was great in the beginning and excellent in theory but it’s unrecognizable from where we started and I’m just plain over it. So that being said, come hang with me here instead!
